Trans Pyrenees Challenge (September)

September 15, 2010

We were out on the roads of the Pyrenees again and taking in some spectacular rides (including my personal favourites of Col de Boixols, Col de Jou and the challenging Bagarguí).  Although this was lower elevation gain than the Trans Alps Challenge we made up for it with more distance!  This challenge includes some of the mythical cols like the Tourmalet and some of the more hidden and enchanting mountains which often don’t figure on the Tour de France but are well worth a visit by bike.

Full details on this challenge can be found here: Trans Pyrenees Challenge

Trans Alps Challenge: Geneva to the Mediterranean

September 15, 2010

The trip started in Châtel near lake Geneva on a glorious August morning and finished near the Mediterranean coast in a luxurious chateau.  Not a bad place to finish after nearly 480 miles and 60,000 feet of climbing.
